1-4 Months

Hello Again Knox,

Today you are 4 months old. I can’t believe we have already had you for 4 months! You are about 14 lbs and 26 inches. You had to get your second round of shots yesterday :/ It makes mommy feel bad but you did such a great job. You currently are taking a nap and it’s funny how it’s nice to have a moment without you, but I also miss you at the same time. You are getting so big and you are so much fun to play with now. You have your own little personality and you are so happy all the time. You know how to roll over to your tummy and then back to your back. You are a rolling fool. It seems like you never sit still either. You love to take in all of the world around you. You have been pretty chatty as of late and you even said your first word “mama” the other day. Everything is going in your mouth, including your hands, all the time. We think you are about to get a tooth in. You are drooling everywhere and chewing on everything. You love watching anything with a screen. We sometimes put on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for you. You also like to sit and watch football with Grandpa. You never want to nap. You fight it like crazy, but if we put something over your face you fall right asleep. You just never want to miss anything that’s happening. Your favorite toys right now are your fox and octopus. Everyday at 4:00 when we ride home from work you yell and scream at mommy, but that’s the only time you throw a fit. It lasts the whole 10 minutes home and then you stop. You love reading books with anyone who wants to read you one. Your little belly laugh is so cute and infectious. You are just so cute and infectious! I don’t know what we would ever do without you now. You bring joy to everyone around. People have told us that you are super cute and adorable and they normally don’t find babies cute. I know you are cute because everyone wants to touch you. Mommy goes crazy every time someone does because she doesn’t want you to get germs! You also are starting to enjoy bath time now. I can’t wait till you want to sit and play in your bath. You are drinking 6 oz of formula every 2-3 hours now. We have stopped breastfeeding since you get frustrated doing it now. The milk doesn’t come out fast enough for you. You are really good at reading emotions and reacting. It’s pretty amazing.

I am sorry I didn’t get to type out a new blog post for every month, but I have been crazy busy with you and life. I much rather have spent all the time I have with you then have the time to write out blog posts. Time goes by so fast now and you seem so much older everyday. The first few months were great. You made parenting pretty easy for us. Dad got to stay home with us for 2 weeks which was nice. I got to stay home with you for 2 months. We enjoyed our time together even if mommy was sleep deprived during the first two months. Memaw and Aunt Krystal came over a lot to help mom and dad and to let us sleep. Grandma, Grandpa and Ciotka would also watch you while mom and dad napped. You were sleeping through the night at some point, but we are now back to one night feed. You got to go through your first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Your first Halloween costume was a gnome that Grandma made for you. We went to the Springs Preserve for the Haunted Harvest with your Aunt, Uncle, Cousins, and Memaw & Papa. On Halloween we carved pumpkins with Grandma and Ciotka. For Thanksgiving we went down to San Diego to spend time with Granny Sue and Stud. Your cousins Shayann and Shelby came to Thanksgiving dinner too as well as Ciotka’s boyfriend Keith. You did such a good job riding down and back. 8 hours down and 5 hours back. Your first Christmas was a lot of fun. You met Santa twice! One time you were asleep and the other you seemed to enjoy meeting him. You got so many fun presents from everyone. We spent Christmas Eve day with daddies family and we spent Christmas Day with mommies. Your first New Years was uneventful. When it came time for New Years at 12:00 am, we were all in bed fast asleep. You were such a strong baby and so alert from the start. You would have your beautiful big eyes open and try to hold your neck up all the time. The first time we took you to church you took a huge dump and let a large fart. Mom and dad couldn’t hold back the laughs.

You have been such a joy to us all and we love you so very much. We can’t wait to watch you grow and see you become you!

Love,

Mom
